Children play on a sidewalk with chalk drawn hearts near the entrance of a church

About one hundred people, mostly women, hold a mourning cermeony and create a makeshift memorial on 31 May 2021 at the entrance of our Lady of the Assumption Church in Windsor, Ontario to mark the discovery last week of 215 children's bodies in an unmarked grave at a former residential school in British Columbia. Prayers by an elder and a youth and song by women mark the formal and unphotographed portion of the ceremony.
